Evolving the Marketing Conversations: March 25, 2010 —McIntyre Hall Performing Arts & Conference Center, Mount Vernon, WA

Celebrating our Social Media Rockstars

Is your business a player in social media? If so, we want to hear your story! We are looking for fun, clever, unique, and ultimately successful implementations of social media as a part of your business' marketing strategy for our inaugural Social Media Rock Star contest.
Think you might have something to share? There’s no additional fee to enter and all registered conference attendees (except speakers and sponsors) are eligible.  Contest has begun!

Deadline for entries extended to March 11, 2010!

Why enter?

To show off your stuff! You might as well make use of the opportunity, right? Apart from recognition at the conference you will also receive visibility on the conference website. The winner(s) will be announced at the conference.

How to Enter?

Choose one of the following categories to enter the contest:

The Novice:

Send us a one page description of when you started using social media, what made you start and what social media channels you used. Was it a worthwhile effort, if so how did if benefit your organization? What hurdles did you face and what were your learning experiences from the effort?  What aspects of your social media presence have you tweaked from when you started? Your story will be judged on:

1)    Have you been able to recognize the benefit of social media? Have you put any measures in place to justify continuing to be investing (time, effort or money) in social media?

2)    Are you learning from your experiences?

3)    How creative and effective are your ideas and implementation?

The Strategist:

So you think you have a social media strategy? Send us a pithy one page description (no cheating with smaller than 11-point font, please) on how you used social media as part of your marketing strategy. Describe your marketing goals, objectives, social media strategies, tactics, and successes as measurable results. We hope you will share your insights, learning experience, even stumbling blocks along the way. It all counts. Your entries will be judged based on:

1)    Is it a concise description of a social media strategy implemented in your business?

2)    Did it describe how this social media strategy solved a business problem and achieved a marketing objective in some fashion (such as, customer awareness, satisfaction, web traffic, or increase revenue)?

3)    How creative and effective were the ideas and implementation?

Additional Information for Both Categories:

Please attach some visuals (such as screen shots and videos of the social media activities). We would like to showcase chosen entries during the conference. So we encourage you to make an automated PowerPoint presentation of your entry so that we can run it through the conference.

How to Submit?

Indicate what category you’re entering into. Specify the company name clearly. You don't want your recognition going to no one! We encourage you to submit the entire entry in a neat little package preferably as a PDF file. Use some social media creativity. Use SlideShare to upload your PDF files and presentations. Upload your videos to YouTube and add a link to the video in your PDF or on SlideShare.

 Send you entry to rockstars@socialmediaconferencenw.com

Deadline for entries:  March 11, 2010.

You MUST be REGISTERED for the conference to enter the contest

Good luck! May the best Rock Star win!
