Whatcom Community College began as a “college without walls” with students attending classes at diverse locations all over Whatcom County. Since then, the campus has grown to serve an average of 7,016 students each quarter.
In addition, WCC is a premier facility for conferences, performances, and community gatherings. Last fall, Governor Christine Gregoire chose to meet with her Whatcom County constituents in Whatcom’s Syre Auditorium.
The Whatcom Community College campus is located in Bellingham at 237 W. Kellogg Road, just off of the Guide Meridian. If you are travelling from out of town: from I-5 take the Meridian Exit (256). Travel north on Meridian. Turn left on West Kellogg Road. Proceed to Cordata Parkway and campus entrance. You will go through one roundabout.
The closest parking lot to the conference venue is behind the Syre Student Center. To access this parking lot, turn left after you pass the Laidlaw Center, which has the flagpole at the entrance. If this parking lot is full, you may park at the parking lot at the north end of campus. You may access this parking lot by turning right after Cascade Hall and driving around the back for the building. There are no reserved parking spaces on campus.
The Whatcom campus is also a transfer center for the WTA, the local busline, and is on both the yellow and green “Go Lines” that arrive/depart campus every 15 minutes. Here is a link to the schedule.
Social Media Conference plenary sessions and the Information Exchange will be held in the Heiner Center. Breakout sessions will be held in the Heiner Center and the Kulshan building, located across Kellogg Street. Here is a link to a map of the campus.
The Whatcom Community College campus is completely wireless, so you are encouraged to bring a laptop computer or other mobile device. A password will be given to you with your conference packet.
The conference will include light beverages. If you wish to purchase other food or beverages, there are a variety of offerings nearby.
Need some quiet time during the conference? Why not enjoy a walk around the campus and view our many art pieces including the floating rock!
